Walkthrough for "My Angel", by Jon Ingold (c) 2000 --------------------------------------------------- This is a walkthrough for one possible game of MY ANGEL; but most of the scenes have several possible paths through them. So if you're consulting this walkthrough because you're stuck in a certain scene, this may well not be of any help at all. However, in most cases, you shouldn't get stuck - if you are; I'd advising asking Angela for help, or looking around more closely; as these will usually solve your problem. Further, a few of the puzzles are optional. Solutions are included in this walkthrough, but you may prefer to try and solve them by yourself. Please remember - it is not possible to put the game into a position where you can't complete it. You can, however, block yourself off from solving optional puzzles. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- At the starting screen, choose your mode. NOVEL mode with the following sequence of moves will generate quite a respectable story, with only a tiny bit of repetition and a flow to the paragraphs. You may want to turn on ALTERNATE mode from the menu so as to make it easier to follow. Part I - Within As the story starts, you awaken in the top of a hay barn. "She" is calling you, and she's in a hurry. Firstly, let's set the scene a little. -Examine yourself -Examine pendant -Touch it -Take bag -Look in it -Examine the food -Look -Examine ladder -Smell -Look through door Now we're outside, and here she is! So let's say hello: -Kiss her -Examine angela -Wheeze Note: this may seem a very random verb, and it is. But it's not important to the game, so I don't think it matters. -Angela, hello -Look around -Take the left path The game suggests conversing, and so we shall. But we'll have to find out how, first: -Ask angela about forest -Think -Think about Angela -Think about braf And now we're in a brief flashback. -Ask braf about mill -Run And out again. Lets have a looks around again -Look in trees -Think about trees -Hug Angela Let's get some more backstory: -Think about mill -Think about flight -Think about accident -Think about barn -Think about her mother And another flashback: -Ask woman about Angela -Smell And we arriver at the river - our first obstacle. There are several ways across; here's the easiest: -Examine river -Swim -Follow path -Examine boat So your father was a sailor? -Think about father -Think about my mother -Touch pendant Oh - best hurry! -Look -Untie painter -Pull painter -Pull mooring post No luck here, it seems. -Look in trees -Think about mob -Swim The river, though, has it fair share of dangers. -Examine foot What's this? Could be useful: -Examine knife -Examine bag ...but it doesn't come without a price, it seems. And then - a snake! -Examine snake -Think about snake -Stab the snake with the knife -Stab snake -Swim As if that wasn't enough, your pursurers have caught up with you. -Examine villagers -Shout at them -Attack them -Run -Examine hummock And now, another flashback: -Look -Tell callico about angela -Again -Callico, no -Dance with callico -Examine her -Examine callico -Angela, yes Back in the forest, you're feeling curious perhaps? -Look in stones -Examine tube -Look in it -Follow wall -Walk -Listen -Go -Callico, no Phew - just got away in time! Now, you're feeling hungry - perhaps the food's still okay. -Eat the food ...or maybe not. But - a stroke of luck! -Examine bushes -Take fruit -Eat fruit -Examine blue berries -Examine red berries ...so how are we going to work out which is safe to eat? -Look -Examine ruins -Search stones -Examine bird -Take ring -Feed berries to bird Is it worth taking a chance? Probably! -Eat berries -Think about hippopotamus -Think about callico And to take a reward for feeding the creature: -Enter pit -Take ring -Examine ring -Give it to Angela -Rub ring -Put ring on Angela -Kiss her -Look -Follow path And so we arrive in another clearing, later in the day. -Examine elm tree -Examine mound -Look under vines -Remove vines -Look -Look under roots -Cut vines -Examine stone -Think about Weaverstone -Touch it -Examine stone Have you seen that design anywhere before? -Examine pendant -Think about pendant -Put pendant on stone -Touch blue square ...and for a moment, everything goes black: -Look -Take her And some remains: -Examine darkness -Think about darkness -Enter darkness ...to arrive somewhere new. -Examine building -Examine tree -Examine horses -Look in opening -Examine it -Look -Enter opening How are we going to get inside? -Examine thorn -Take thorn -Enter opening No, we're going to have to get rid of them -Think about horses It doesn't look like Angela's going to help. -Shout at horses -Look -Look in bag Perhaps the other berries might not be very safe to eat..? -Feed berries to horses -Look -Examine horse -Think about dead horse Too late now. -Think about city Is she sure? -Think about city -Enter city And that's the end of the first chapter. -------------------------------------------------- Part II - Without We're inside the city now. Angela is gone; you've got to find her; follow her thoughts. No time to waste: -Enter shadow -Touch walls -Shout -Go ...too dark. Maybe one of the vines can help? -Look -Examine vines -Cut vines with rock No good. -Examine wall -Push cracks -Look through hole -Examine basin -Examine chair -Examine straps -Examine needles -Think about chair -Look -Examine vine But it's light all the same; so off we go again. -Go -Examine stars And then a dream sequence, of Angela's: -Look -Examine the man -Examine goblet -Think -Take goblet -Man, no -Look at stars -Listen -Drink goblet A familiar liquid? -Look up -Think about Agatha Now, we'd best get on with following her, hadn't we? -Think -Examine dolmen -Go through dolmen We're going to need to move that stone, to get past. Only one missile for the blowpipe.
