Section 6 - Your Log Cabin

Your Log Cabin is a room.

Description of log cabin is "Your log cabin where you live alone, in the far north of the Kingdom of Nowhere. You painstakingly constructed it from local pine logs with the help of your friend the Tinker and his workhorse Dobby.

Instead of smelling your log cabin:

Say "There is a faint smell of pine resin."

Instead of smelling logs:

Say "They smell of seasoned oak. Slightly sweet and earthy."

Rule for printing the name of the fireplace:

Say "fireplace";

omit contents in listing.

Rule for printing the name of the mug of tea:

If mug of tea is hot:

Say "steaming hot mug of tea";

Otherwise:

Say "mug of tea".

Inside the cabin is a fireplace.

The mantelpiece is a supporter.

The mantelpiece is inside the log cabin.

Understand "mantel" as mantelpiece.

The framed photograph is nowhere.

Understand "photo" and "framed" as framed photograph.

Description of framed photograph is "The photograph is of yourself and an emaciated looking old man who you recognise as your late father; the Bony King of Nowhere. You shunned the South and the crown years ago, after his death the land of Nowhere became a republic. The people still mourn his passing, as do you."

Instead of examining the mantelpiece for the first time:

Tea cooling is a scene.

Tea cooling begins when play begins.

Tea cooling ends when tea cooling has been happening for exactly six turns.

The mug of tea is hot.

Description of side table is "Next to your armchair is small round side table, Perfect for resting a cup of tea on."

Instead of drinking mug of tea when mug of tea is hot for first time:

Move empty mug to side table.

Instead of drinking mug of tea when mug of tea is cold:

Say "You take of slurp of tea, but it has gone stone cold, urgh! You pour the cold tea away.";

Now mug of tea is nowhere;

Move empty mug to location.

An Empty mug of tea is an object.

An Empty mug of tea is an open unopenable container.

Description of an empty mug of tea is "A large white porcelain mug. It's glazed surface is crazed and cracked but it still holds liquid. It is empty."

Printed name of an empty mug of tea is "mug".

Instead of blowing mug of tea:

If mug of tea is hot:

Say "You blow on the hot mug of tea, cooling it down.";

Now mug of tea is warm;

Else if mug of tea is warm:

Say "You blow on the warm mug of tea, cooling it down.";

Now mug of tea is cold;

Else if mug of tea is cold:

Say "It's already stone cold!"

The hearth is a part of the fireplace.

The fireplace is a transparent container.

Understand "fire" as fireplace.

Inside the fireplace are some logs.

Logs are fixed in place.

Description of logs is "Some well seasoned oak logs."

Instead of taking logs:

Say "You decide to leave them where they are, you might need to light the fire later on."

The fireplace is fixed in place.

Understand the command "light" as something new.

Understand the command "burn" as something new.

Lighting is an action applying to one visible thing.

Understand "light" and "burn" as lighting.

Understand "light [something]" as lighting.

Understand "burn [something]" as lighting.

Instead of lighting [something] when player is not carrying a torch:

Say "You are not carrying any source of fire."

Instead of lighting [something]:

Say "That's probably not a good idea!"

Instead of lighting logs:

Say "It's already pretty warm in here, it would be a waste of wood."

Instead of lighting fireplace:

Say "It's already pretty warm in here it would be a waste of wood."

The fishing rod is a thing inside your log cabin.

Description of fishing rod is "A bamboo fishing rod, with a cork handle. It has a line, hook and a reel.".

the cork handle is a part of fishing rod.

the fishing line is a part of fishing rod.

the fishing hook is a part of fishing rod.

the reel is a part of fishing rod.

Instead of tying chess piece to fishing rod:

Say "You tie the chess piece to the fishing rod, you now have a magnetic fishing rod!";

A rubber ball is inside your log cabin.

Description of rubber ball is "Dylan's favourite toy. A blue rubber ball. It is covered in multiple bite and scratch marks."

Instead of giving rubber ball to Dylan:

Say "You give the rubber ball to Dylan. He chews it for a bit and wags his tail, then drops it at your feet and looks at you expectantly."
